Porcelain was long something only the rich were able to afford. All other people would use simple stone or even pewter for their tableware. However, it wasn’t long before even fine china became available to the masses. Soon thereafter, porcelain cups and saucers started to be seen as old fashioned, and most of us switched over to mugs, often with fun and funky designs.

I-Wares has been able to combine the two, effectively mixing the traditional with the modern. Their porcelain mugs have a traditional design, following classic baroque lines. However, the handle of the mug is presented in bright fuchsia, which makes it stand out from the crowd. Additionally, the central design of the mug itself is a lined bird, which is incredibly modern in look and feel.

These mugs are great as display pieces in a china cupboard, but also for everyday use. Each member of the family could have a different coloured handle, for instance. Alternatively, they could be a great conversation piece around high tea.
